Featuring: Chachacha ~ Danzon-cha ~ Son ~ Guaracha ~ Songo
This recording has such an irresistable swing that once you listen to it, you have to play it again and again. Orquesta la Moderna Tradicion takes you on a musical journey with exquisite performances of Cuban danzon-cha, cha-cha-cha, and son, as well as modern guaracha and songo. When you hear "Mayeya, no Juegues con los Santos" you feel you have travelled through time from the classic septeto sound of the 1920s to the orquestra's modern charanga of the 21st century. I have one word for this recording: conmueve (emotionally moved). Led by master Cuban percussionist and folklorist Roberto Borrell from Havana, Cuba, the Orquestra is deeply rooted in Cuban tradition, and has brough three traditions up to date in a way that is theirs alone.
